Jennifer Palermo, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston Clearlake and an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art and Art History from Rice University. She treats adolescents and adults through individual, couples, family and group sessions. She is a compassionate and caring clinician.
Her work is informed by the balance of working from both a depth-oriented position which can focus on the past and the unconscious and a solution focused perspective which attends to the present and future. This allows her to work with clients to address underlying causes that impact their present and to collaborate in the creation of solutions that can effect relief and long term change now and in the future.
She has specialized training in art therapy and group therapy. She completed her post graduate internship and then was employed at The Women’s Home where she provided psychotherapy in various modalities to homeless women diagnosed with both mental illness and substance dependency. Her first decade plus long career was as an arts professional producing the Art Car Parade as Assistant Director of The Orange Show Foundation.
Her interests include the transformative power of creative artistic expression and the implementation of social change through discourse.
